Abortion - Is There Blood on Your Hands

PRELUDE

If you have had an abortion, you need to seek forgiveness. God is more than willing to forgive.

Forgiveness, however, generally requires some degree of repentance.

And repentance requires knowledge that a particular action is something that requires repentance.

The point of this document is not to attack the individual who may yet get an abortion nor to condemn one who has had an abortion.

The purpose is to show that Abortion is evil and who is responsible for that evil.

BLOOD

In some parts of the world, the term "bloody" is a horrible profanity. I apologize for any in or from those cultures who may be offended with the word "blood".

In the USA we have "blood drives" for people to donate blood for humans who need blood transfusions. My wife is a nurse and regularly uses the phrase, "hanging blood".

If there is an accident on the highway, we keep children from seeing the blood.

But I will not yield in the use of the word "blood". I do not use the word as a profanity nor in the medical sense. I use the word in a religious sense.

JUDEO CHRISTIAN USE OF WORD 'BLOOD'"

Blood is the center of Biblical Judeo Christian theology. When the quotations are from the Old Testament, it refers to both the Biblical Jewish religion and the Christian Religion. When the quotation is from the New Testament, it refers to the Christian Religion.

Very young children, in Sunday School, learn about David and Goliath. David brings down the giant with a slingshot and proceeds to cut off his head. Very adult content but acceptable for children in a religious context.

39 And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.

40 And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.

(Verses 41-47 deleted for sake of brevity.)

48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.

50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.

51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled. [1 Samuel 17:37-51]

In the early years of the Christianity, Pagan critics called Christianity a "bloody" religion. This was not the profanity use of the word. It described the Christian worship service where holy communion was celebrated.

In communion, the Christian eats the body of Jesus and drinks his blood. This refers back to the precious blood of Jesus which was shed on the cross. Of course we use bread and wine and not flesh of a human nor human blood. Christian children first take communion shortly after reaching an age of responsibility, about 8 years old.

53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. [John 6:53-56]

When I was a child before I learned how to read, my mother read the Bible to me including those passages which refer to "blood" and death.

Certainly the use of the word "blood" in the religious context is not "adult material".

BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS

Take a look at your hands. Do you see blood? Is that what we
mean, actual blood? One who kills another gets blood on his
or her hands whether the actual blood touches the hand or not.
In a spiritual sense, this is not just a figure of speech. There is much more to it than that.

Human blood is spilled when a person is killed whether the
blood actually leaves the body or not. This is a spiritual thing. It is something not seen but very very real. Murder is the willful taking of innocent human life. The Scripture clearly makes a distinction of purposefully killing and non-premeditated
manslaughter.

Murder is an offense which will cost a person his eternal soul
independent of what he believes. The Apostle Paul was a party
to the murder of the martyr Stephen by consenting to his
death. Paul was forgiven of this offense as it was before his
conversion.

1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. [Acts 8:1-3] (Saul here is the Apostle Paul.)

If one sins willfully after conversion he puts again to death
our Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 6:6 makes the case against the
quick "I'm sorry". This is of course different from I John
1:9 where it says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness."

Abortion is the taking of human life while still in the mother's womb. This is murder, according to at least some definitions. This may be punishable by the eternal loss of one's soul. Books have been written to prove that life begins at conception not when the U. S. Supreme Court says it does.

18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand." [Ezekiel 3:18]

"If you fail to warn of the sin, the blood is on your hands"
is a paraphrase of Ezekiel 3:18. This is the serious responsibility put on the Christian communities and
especially the Christian leaders.

Silence means the consenting to the death. Failure to warn
also passes the guilt. The punishment is not a slap on the
wrist but the full weight of eternal laws which have the final
result as shown in Revelation 21:8 where it states that
"...murders...will have their part in the lake which burns
with fire and brimstone...the second death."

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. [Revelation 21:8]

Look at your hands. Look at the Word. Do you have blood on
your hands? There is an abortion murder in this country every
twenty second - every minute of every hour of every day. You
have allowed this to happen so far, perhaps out of ignorance.

You did not have an abortion nor did you perform an abortion
but YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE. You consented to each and every death
because of your silence.
