Remedies to Cure High Blood Pressure - Healing the Old-Fashioned Way
Everything that we need to stay healthy is given to us in nature. The same holds true for remedies to cure high blood pressure.
There are some cases where elevated pressure is brought on by an anomaly. However, the reason many of us begin to suffer from it is typically due to an imbalance of some sort. Whether it is unhealthy diet, lack of exercise or too much stress, if we keep going long enough without making changes, our body will respond negatively.
So here are some natural options you can try to get results naturally.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Many people swear by this method. A couple tablespoons in an 8 oz glass of water is said to do the trick. The key to this remedy is making sure that it is pure apple cider vinegar that has not been processed. This vinegar will have an oily substance at the bottom of the bottle and will have particles floating around in it when you shake the bottle.
Garlic
Garlic is one of the most well known remedies to cure high blood pressure. Many people find it very affective. It acts as a blood thinner, and thus lowers pressure. Because of this, garlic should not be taken in conjunction with a medication that is also a blood thinner. Nor should it be taken right before or after surgery. You should consult your doctor prior to using garlic as a supplement to lower your pressure.
Cayenne Pepper
Cayenne pepper stops platelets from joining. This results in good blood flow which in turn results in lowered pressure.
These are just a few remedies to cure high blood pressure. There are many more options available to you, but these are a great place to start. These remedies will give you a great place to start to regain control of your blood pressure.

Lose Weight, Lower Blood Pressure and Cholesterol with the Show-Me! Diet
If you would like to find out whether you are one of the 80 percent of people who can control high blood pressure or cholesterol with diet alone, have your doctor give you your current numbers. Follow my Show-Me! Diet for just two weeks, then have your doctor re-check your cholesterol, triglycerides and blood pressure.
The only foods you eat on the SHOW ME! diet are oatmeal for breakfast, and whole-meal salads for lunch and dinner (see the recipe below). You won't need to go hungry, because you decide on the portion size. Don't stuff yourself, but eat until you are comfortably full and satisfied. If you prefer frequent small meals and snacks, that's fine, too; just divide your salads up and eat as often as you like. You can also have oatmeal at other times of the day if you wish.
Breakfast instructions: Use a long-cooking oatmeal (rolled, steel cut, Scottish or Irish style oats.) Do not use quick-cooking or instant types. To save time, cook up a large batch -- enough for several days or a week -- following the package instructions. Store the leftovers in a refrigerator container, and reheat each day's portion in a microwave dish.
Flavor your oatmeal with a little cinnamon or nutmeg, and add a handful of raisins or other dried fruit to the pot if you wish. You may also add fresh fruit - up to one cup of the fruit of your choice - but eat the fruit with the oatmeal, not alone as a snack. If you like milk on your oatmeal, use skim milk, nonfat yogurt, or a low-fat soy milk or other vegetarian milk. Do not drink it as a beverage; this is for your oatmeal only.
Note: If you cannot eat oatmeal for some reason, substitute brown rice or another whole grain, flavored and served the same way as oatmeal. Look for brown rice with at least 3 grams of fiber. Or try Kashi Breakfast Pilaf, a mixture of whole grains that is widely available and delicious.
Beverages: For breakfast, lunch, dinner, and anytime in between, beverages must contain NO calories. Use water (plain, flavored, or bubbly; tap water is fine), tea, or any other calorie-free drink you like.
Once you have proven to yourself and your doctor that you can control your blood pressure and cholesterol with diet, you'll need to learn how to apply this way of eating for the rest of your life. Visit my web site for the research behind this program, complete instructions, menus and dozens of recipes to show you that eating this way is not only easy, it's delicious and satisfying.
Mix & Match Salad Recipe
Mix & Match Salads are whole meals in a salad bowl. Start with any lettuce or salad greens you like, and add ANY other vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans and other foods from the list below. Try to get several different bright colors in the bowl, including something red, orange or yellow. Here's just one example:
2 Romaine lettuce hearts, sliced crosswise into 1/2" strips
1 10-ounce box grape (tiny) tomatoes
1 6-ounce jar marinated artichoke hearts, drained
1 ripe avocado, cut in 1/2" chunks
1 red bell pepper, cut in 1/4" strips
1 3-ounce can red salmon
1/4 cup shredded Romano or Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Cajun spice blend, or to taste
2 tablespoons rice vinegar or light wine vinegar
Toss all ingredients together in a salad bowl and serve.
2-3 servings
That's just one of endless possible combinations. Start with 3-4 cups of salad greens per person. Then add whatever amount you wish of vegetables, whole grains, beans, fruits, spices and seasonings You can also add limited amounts of the following:
Seafood - maximum of 6 ounces (2 3-ounce servings) per day
Cheese - 1 ounce of dry (low-fat) cheese, counts as a dairy serving, maximum 3 per day
Nuts & Seeds - maximum of 1/4 cup (2 2-tablespoon servings) per day
Oils - Up to 1 tablespoon of olive oil in your dressing if you like, or use your favorite low-calorie bottled dressing
Use your Mix & Match Salads twice a day on the Show-Me! Diet, or any time you want an easy, healthful meal.

Blood Glucose Testing - 6 Tips to Make Testing Pain Free
Did you know there are 6 simple steps that you can take to make testing your blood glucose a lot less painful?
At the moment, to accurately check our blood glucose the only way to do this, is to prick our fingers and check the resulting blood for glucose.
Pain is caused by the penetration of the lancet into the skin. The deeper the lancet penetrates the skin the more painful the testing but the more blood is provided for testing. If you need more blood for testing then the lancet will need to penetrate deeper.
The tips below focus on ways to get more blood out when you prick your finger with a lancet so that it does not need to penetrate the skin deeply and thus makes it a lot less painful!
1) Wash your hands with soap and warm water - this will help keep the testing site clean and help dilate the blood vessels in the fingers to increase blood flow.
2) Massage your finger downwards to the tip of your finger - this will help push blood towards the tip of your finger so that when it is pricked there is plenty of blood there ready to come out.
3) Have your testing hand pointing downwards below your waist - blood will flow more easily when following gravity downwards.
4) Set your lancing device - lancing devices have different settings to pierce the skin at different depths. If you use the tips in this article you should find that you will be able to use a lower setting but still have enough blood for testing. Try changing the settings to find the right level.
5) Select the right meter - different blood glucose meters require different amounts of blood to carry out a blood glucose testing. The less blood needed the less painful testing will be. Choose a meter that requires only a small testing sample such as the Accu-chek Aviva which needs only 0.6 microliter
6) Alternate your fingers - don't use the same finger over and over again. You have 8 fingers distribute the testing evenly. You'll find your fingers will recover much faster and blood flow will be better.

Herbal Remedies For High Blood Pressure Can Free You From Prescriptions
Every year, more and more studies are being performed on herbal remedies for high blood pressure. This is done, in part, because the side effects of prescription hypertension treatments keep cropping up and doctors are discovering that the cure, in many cases, is more dangerous than the disease. The growing expense of those prescriptions is also driving people toward more economical approaches, and herbal remedies for high blood pressure tend to be far less expensive than their traditional pharmaceutical counterparts.
Let's assume for a moment that you spend $40 per month for your prescription. Over the course of one year, you will have spent $480 on that one prescription. The expense doesn't end there, however. Unless additional steps are taken to counter the source of your hypertension, you will be taking those pills indefinitely. Now, assuming that you take that one prescription for ten years, you will have spent $4800 on that one prescription by the time that ten years is up. That's enough to buy a used car!
In comparison, herbal remedies for high blood pressure tend to be far less expensive, and can sometimes be incorporated directly into your diet so you don't notice even that minor expense. The side effects stemming from them, by comparison, also tend to be a great deal more minor, usually no worse than the risk of a food allergy.
Some common herbal remedies for high blood pressure are:
Rauwolfia
Hawthorne
Mistletoe
Garlic
Fish Oil
Folic Acid
Coenzyme Q10
Of course, if you are taking an prescriptions or if you have any other chronic medical condition like diabetes or kidney disease, you will want to consult with your doctor before proceeding to make sure that you will be able to safely take these supplements, particularly garlic.
One of the primary ways that garlic works to reduce hypertension is to act as a blood thinner, which makes it much easier for your heart to pump blood. So, you will want to take caution when taking garlic supplements if you are already taking any kind of prescription blood thinning agent.
Herbal remedies for high blood pressure are great to use by themselves, but they become even more powerful when paired with lifestyle changes such as weight loss if you are overweight, stress reduction, quitting smoking if you are a smoker, and regular exercise. There are hundreds of things you can do to take control of your health today.

Blood Pressure Supplements - 3 Great and Natural Ways to Lower Your Blood Pressure
Blood pressure supplements are one great way to help get rid of your hypertension without resorting to drugs. Here in this article I'll share with you three great types of supplement that you can go out and try today.
Garlic
Garlic is great for overall cardiovascular health. It reduces both your systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
It also thins the blood so if you are taking aspirin or Warfarin or other blood thinners then you should first speak to your doctor.
You can eat garlic whole but it is much nicer to take it as a small supplement pill.
Coenzyme Q10
Coenzyme Q10 is one of the new, revolutionary supplements that have hit the market in recent years. It is present in many cells of the body and is also critical in many of the body's important processes and organs such as the heart, liver and kidney.
It can help after a heart attack, possible help against cancer and reduce radiation damage. But it can also reduce your b.p. by up to 20/10 alone which is very significant.
Vitamin C
Studies have shown that vitamin C is somewhat effective against hypertension and can help you to get closer to the healthy value of 115/75.
Nobody knows exactly why but it appears to be related to nitric acid. Vitamin C increases something called "nitric oxide synthesis" - the end result is that your blood vessels can open up and this then relieves the pressure on the walls (like releasing a garden hose that has been pulled tight to start with).
The best source of this vitamin is fresh fruits but supplements have been show to be highly effective. You only need a regular dose for it to be effective. There is no need to "mega-dose" to get the benefits.
Potassium
Everybody talks about sodium being bad for your heart and bad for your blood. People are always checking sodium content on food packages to make sure they don't get enough.
However, the real relationship is between sodium and potassium. If you also increase the potassium that you eat then this has a beneficial effect on your blood pressure.
You can easily buy potassium supplements from your local health store. You can also substitute the salt that you add to meals (sodium based) with a potassium equivalent. The more you shake on your meal, the healthier for your b.p. it is!

The Facts About Low Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is an all-too-common disease plaguing millions of Americans every year. It is so common in fact that you are safe to assume that someone you know is taking blood pressure medicine at this very moment. While most people know at least a little bit about high blood pressure, many know nothing about its opposite, low blood pressure. So in this article, we'll explore the causes of this not-so-well-known ailment, and its possible dangers.
Before we get started, let me say that low blood pressure is not viewed as a serious ailment compared to high blood pressure, however, it is not advised that your blood pressure go too low regardless. So what is considered low? Well, we know that so-called "perfect" blood pressure is viewed to be about 120/80; so it is recommended to stay at or below that. However, when it gets too low, like 90/60, adjustments may need to be made to bring it up some. There only needs to be one low number (diastolic or systolic) for you to have a low reading. So if either number is consistently lower than normal or "perfect" you might want to consider seeking medical attention to verify that your blood pressure is not a problem.
So what contributes to a low blood pressure reading? According to medical officials, there are a variety of reasons for blood pressure going lower than normal. Exercise can be a contributing factor, as well as balanced diet and lack of smoking. So if you have made major adjustments in your life and your blood pressure was not high to begin with then it could seem a little low when essentially you are still healthy.
On the other hand, low blood pressure can be a sign that you are in need of medical attention. For example, pregnant women (especially in their first 5-6 months) have a lower blood pressure reading than normal. So if you're blood pressure is low and you are in question of your status, you may want to see a doctor to check for pregnancy.
Even more serious is dehydration, or the life-threatening hypovolemic shock. Dehydration is a result of a lack of water in your system, and of course, water carries oxygen. So when there is a lack of water, there is a lack of oxygen flowing through your blood. If it becomes too low, you can go into hypovolemic shock because no oxygen is reaching your blood tissues. If you go into shock, you can die within a very short period of time. So if your blood pressure is not normally low then it drops suddenly, this is cause for alarm.
Other issues that can contribute to low blood pressure are nutritional deficiencies, allergic reactions, blood loss, and heart problems. This is why it is important to keep tabs on your blood pressure, no matter which direction it is moving. Both and low and high blood pressure readings can cause or be the cause of serious problems, so it is a good idea to watch your blood pressure levels regularly.
But before I scare you into running to the doctor every day, please consider that what is low for some may not be low for others. For example, I've had a blood pressure reading of 100/60 the majority of my adult life and doctors always tell me this is normal. But I am a petite person of small frame and light weight so they tell me I'm right on track; blood pressure considered "perfect" for others might be a little high for me.
Just like any other medical issues, you should always treat low blood pressure seriously. Even though it is not as common, and traditionally not deemed as serious as high blood pressure, it is still related to your health and should be treated as such. If you can invest in a small blood pressure gauge, you might want to make the purchase, just to keep tabs on your low blood pressure readings and stay on top of your health.

Why Are Blood Pressure Medications So Dangerous?
Below are the reasons why blood pressure medications are sometimes more dangerous than high blood pressure itself. Some dangerous side effects are caused by hypertension medications. The famous words from medical firms are No efficacy without side effects. These words are only to defend themselves.
Dizziness, headache, fatigue, depression, throbbing of the heart, lack of energy, lack of concentration, impotency, frigidity are some of the dangerous side effects.
"False security" is sometimes created by these medicines in patients mind.
Just imagine that you are wearing a helmet with a crack that is unnoticed in it. The amount of risk you take is more due to the trust on the helmet. But when you fall, the helmet breaks with your head along it.
Because hypertension medications neither cure hypertension nor protect you from sudden fatal cardiovascular events - such as heart attack, stroke, embolism, kidney failure and other conditions that are directly caused by high blood pressure. It often doesn't even work to normalize the blood pressure itself.
Half of the population die from these problems. Death rate is a bit higher for the people on medications. Therefore, people who are in medication for a lifetime think that they are safe, but when something terrible happens they find that the medication is not working.
The reason for the hypertension medication that does not work is that they do not cure the basic problem stress and diet that creates hypertension.
Western countries have a very high standard of living. And it is very difficult to live a good life. There is huge amount of food to eat and awesome clothes to wear, but the stress and worry caused by this modern world has disturbed our health.
Persons who are in this condition will always have stress in their body and mind. They will not be able to sleep nor relax. And this anxiety state will end up in hypertension.
The remedy is by taking a break!
You will not get this relaxation by watching the TV. Everyday your body and mind need some time off to relax.
Hypertension is the major reason for half of the death in western countries. A break at some point of their life would have saved their life.

Blood Price by Tanya Huff - A Vicki Nelson Novel
I have been a fan of the Vicki Nelson books since reading Blood Price, the first in this entertaining series by Tanya Huff. Last year (2007) Vicki had her own show - Blood Ties on Lifetime. If it will be picked up again is still not decided, but I've taken this as a welcome excuse to reread the novels in order, as published.
Blood Price. Daw, 1991. (with various printings)
Vicki Nelson, former Toronto police detective, has left the force because of the deteriorating eye disease retinitis pigmentosa. She sets up a private detective office where business has been scarce. Things quickly change when late one night Vicki witnesses a brutal murder on a subway platform. The victim is Ian a young man who only moments earlier had been thinking about his girlfriend Coreen and how upset she would be with him for being late. Seconds before his attacker strikes Ian smells a rotting stench. As he opens his mouth to scream the monster throws him to the ground, and tears out his throat. This is when Vicki happens upon the scene. She sees a figure in black bending over the victim. She races the long distance down the platform, but by the time she arrives the killer has escaped, leaving a blood trail into the dark tunnel. Her eye sight being what it is she does not get a good look at the killer. The victim, with his hideous wounds, and body drained of blood, is beyond any help. But the murderer's foul odor cannot be ignored.
Vicki summons the police. When they finally arrive it turns out the lead investigator is her former partner and lover Mike Celluci. She tells him as much as she knows, but she has questions of her own for him. They have had no contact since she resigned eight months earlier, and Mike makes a point of reminding her that she is no longer on the force, and not privy to police information. And he is still furious with her for quitting. He considers it like running away. His attitude angers Vicki but being the pigheaded, charge ahead type that she is, Mike's vitriol only fuels her determination to find out what's going on.
There have been other savage murders like this - victims with ravaged throats and drained of blood. When even more killings occur the press dubs them the vampire murders. This particular designation upsets Henry Fitzroy, romance writer, illegitimate son of Henry VIII, and vampire. The killer is giving vampires a bad name and Henry plans to do something about it.
Now the three main characters that appear in all the series books have been introduced. Vicki, of course, is central, but Mike and Henry, both very attracted to her, will be involved in solving each paranormal mystery.
In Blood Price someone is calling forth a very powerful, blood lusting demon who will literally destroy the world if he is not stopped.

Lower Diastolic Blood Pressure Safely and Without Side Effects
Is your diastolic blood pressure reading greater than 80 mm HMG? If it is between 81 and 99 you are pre-hypertensive. If your reading is greater than 100 then you have hypertension. In either case you need to lower your diastolic reading back to normal to avoid possible serious medical consequences.
Recent studies indicate that a high diastolic reading has an impact on cognitive function. That is to say people with this condition have a more difficult time performing mental tasks and may have an impaired memory as well. Does this mean high diastolic pressure causes Alzheimer's? The jury is still out on that but for certain you want to take action to lower the pressure and the sooner the better.
There are basically two ways to get your blood pressure under control.
Your doctor may prescribe one or more blood pressure medications. These can include diuretics, beta blockers, alpha blockers or calcium channel blockers. These medications, with the exception of the diuretics, are designed to interrupt your body's natural response to high blood pressure in an effort to control or limit the damage done by the condition.
Medication is an ongoing therapy. It's important to recognize that these drugs do not cure hypertension, they control it. That means you will be on one or more daily medications for the rest of your life because without them, the condition will return full blown with the possibility of fatal results.
Not a pretty picture is it?
Even if you are on medication today, there are things you can do to lower diastolic pressure naturally and safely. In fact the American Heart Association recommends a change in lifestyle to include diet, exercise and stress management as the first defense against this disease.
Why is that?
Well it's because nobody knows for certain what causes high blood pressure or hypertension, but it is commonly accepted that those people with the condition also have one or more of the following in common:
Obesity. Being overweight not only puts additional strain on the heart, it also actually causes a greater pressure problem trying to get blood into the small capillaries that exist in the fat. The larger your blood vessel system is, the more effort the heart has to make to keep circulation going.
Stress. High levels of stress, both physical and emotional, have an adverse impact on the heart. Stress can release high levels of adrenalin and other hormones that place an undue burden on the body. This is further aggravated when you add caffeinated drinks and nicotine to the mix.
Heart Unhealthy Diet. This actually applies to most Americans. We eat a diet that is excessively high in sodium thanks to all the processed foods we consume. We are addicted to convenience and do not eat nearly enough fresh fruits and vegetables. Top this off with our love affair with the deep fat fryer and you have a diet designed to create plaque, clots and hardened blood vessels.
So what's the way to lower diastolic blood pressure safely? Just take a look at the three conditions above and start attacking them. You don't have to get drastic about it, even small improvements will result in a lower blood pressure reading.
Three quick fixes include:
Get at least 30 minutes of mild aerobic exercise like walking or cycling each day. This is the absolutely fastest way to lower your blood pressure. In addition, over time you will shed a couple of pounds as well. Lastly, exercise is a great way to repair the damage done by stress.
Get some sleep. Sleep is the number one natural stress reliever. You don't need drugs; you need 7 to 8 hours of good sleep each night.
Change your diet. Eat more potassium from fresh fruits and vegetables. This will help offset the excess of sodium. Drink plenty of water. Actually drink one half your body weight expressed in ounces each day. This has a number of benefits but for blood pressure, the number one benefit is that being hydrated adds elasticity to the blood vessels.
So if you want to lower your blood pressure you have these two choices. Medication that is both expensive and comes with side effects; or making changes in your life that will allow a natural reduction in pressure. The choice is yours.

Stem Cell Therapy - Adult Double Cord Blood Transplant Study
Cord blood which comes from the umbilical cord is a viable source for transplant therapies. Some other ones are the bone marrow transplant and the peripheral blood transplantation's. Cord blood transplant has played a very vital role in eradicating diseases such as leukemia from the human body. The blood that remains when the umbilical cord is separated from the newborn infant contains vital components of blood and is a necessity when it comes to treating fatal diseases of the human blood. The blood has been found out to be rich in stem cells. Doctors have found numerous successes using umbilical cord transplants.
Bone marrow transplants may use the recipient's own cells or donor stem cells. This kind of transplantation leads to the restoration of the capability of the human body to form blood and make cells that are resistant to diseases.
Bone Marrow Transplant:
The procedure in which the bone is transplanted from the donor to the patient to form new stem cells is known as bone marrow transplant. It refers to the spongy tissue which is present in the bones in its interior. It is found in the breastbone, skull, hips, ribs and spine and contains stem cells that produce the vital red blood cells also known as RBC's. Under an anesthetic, the donor's hipbone has to be removed for the transplantation.
Cord Blood Transplant vs. Bone Marrow Transplants:
Bone marrow transplant is more prevalent compared to such a transplant. Both of these techniques of stem cell transplant have their own pros and cons. Following are the pros of cord blood transplant over bone marrow transplant:
Graft versus host disease stands for the diseases caused due to the new blood cells in the recipient's body and can be dangerous in up to 40% of the patients. There is lesser probability of attack of blood cells on the body of the recipient thus resulting in a low Graft versus host disease (GVHD).
For a successful transplant, one needs a very close and accurate matching to reduce the risk of GVHD. The cells in cord blood being younger, they adapt more easily and hence a perfect match is not required. Hence, blood transplant can cover a wider range of recipients.
Cord blood contains ten times the amount of stem cells than that found in an equal quantity of a bone.
Cord blood stem cell therapy has regenerative characteristics. This is attributed to the fact that the stem cells found in the umbilical blood are a lot younger.
Cord blood is available easily. The banking facility helps in making blood donation readily available for transplantation's.
Graft rejection is the only point where bone marrow is preferred to transplant. However, "CB" bone marrow transplant helps in strengthening the body against fatal blood diseases and is thus preferred more.

The Blood Never Lies - CPC Study Discovers Revolutionary Lung Cancer Diagnostic Tool
It's a cold, hard fact that lung diseases affect an increasingly growing sector of the population today. Almost 20 million Americans suffer from asthma, and the disease may predispose sufferers to lung cancer, which strikes over a quarter-million new victims each year. The increased risk of lung cancer among asthma sufferers who have never smoked supports a direct correlation between asthma and lung cancer. However there does not exist a simple, reliable method of diagnosing pathologies of human lung tissues early in their development. That is, until a new study conducted by the Cancer Prevention & Cure laboratory in San Antonio, TX lead to a discovery that is changing all that.
The purpose of the study was to identify panels of serum biomarkers that can detect and distinguish asthma from non-small cell lung cancer. The study identified several novel panels of biomarkers (patent pending) that stratify and correctly classify the physiologic state of a subject with regard to non-small cell lung cancer and asthma. Simply put, their study instantly revolutionized the way lung cancer is screened for and detected. Even more amazing is that CPC discovered all this by simply testing a patient's blood.
"Most lung cancers are discovered too late in terms of disease development, and the cases are already pretty serious before they're accurately diagnosed," explains Robert Streeper, one of the study's principals. "From the patient's point of view, having the ability to differentiate between a condition like asthma and lung cancer is huge."
While this approach may seem like common sense in theory, it's actually groundbreaking in the way CPC employs a proprietary panel that checks several blood biomarkers as cancer indicators, and therefore has developed an exponentially more accurate diagnostic tool than previous single biomarker testing approaches. The findings supported a multi-marker strategy for the diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancers by measuring expression levels of groups of biomarkers to facilitate early detection of the disease through simple blood tests. The biomarkers can also be used to characterize disease progression, differentiate among the pathologies, and to monitor patients' responses to various drug therapies.
CT scans - the current primary lung cancer diagnostic tool - are not only expensive, but are controversial because of the potentially dangerous levels of radiation they expose a patient to. The results also take longer to process, and usually can only detect full-blown cases of cancer where treatment is too late. CPC's blood testing is not only significantly cheaper than conventional CT scans, but also provides instant results, and is much less invasive and a safer diagnostic technology overall.
CPC's groundbreaking discovery is already being referenced, copied, and applied to researching other types of cancer, such as ovarian and testicular, by other labs and research firms.
CPC wishes to pre-screen at-risk patients to test their blood to see if their panel fits the biomarker profile, and if it does, ten refer them for further diagnosis. "Our objective," Streeper explains, "is to form a partnership with a big clinical service provider and license this technology out."
Groundbreaking as it is, the implications of CPC's pioneering research doesn't stop at just cancer diagnosis; Streeper explains that they also found that men and women lung cancer patients are very different in terms of their biochemical profiles. Such a discovery is important not only from a diagnostic standpoint, but also has implications that perhaps the treatments and testing for men and women should be different as well. This also raises another question to the medical community: in regards to other cancers affecting men and women - are their markers biochemically different as well?
"Nobody knows. Nobody has ever published a study like that," Streeper points out, which means that CPC's important diagnostic ripple could change the way every type of cancer is discovered and treated in the big pond of the medical future.
